Letter from American College of Pediatricians to Parkway

Below is a letter from the American College of Pediatricians read during the March 9th Board of Education meeting in which the curriculum was voted upon. In this letter 4 national medical and healthcare organizations endorse the superiority of sexual risk avoidance (SRA) education over comprehensive sexuality education (CSE). Together, they represent over 30,000 healthcare providers and constituents. The four organizations include:

  • American College of Pediatricians
  • Medical Institute for Sexual Health (medical, educational and research organization)
  • Christian Medical & Dental Association
  • Catholic Medical Association

The purpose of this letter is to establish that Parkway’s health/sexuality education curriculum is a CSE program and then share the common factual reasons the group oppose CSE and favor sexual risk avoidance education.
